The short answer is "Yes."

If B and C are in the same category, the process is trivial.

Suppose A, B, and C are in separate categories.

Find all the elements of the C category that are excluded from B (other than C itself). Since A must be either B or C, if those elements of C are excluded from B, they are also excluded from A.

Visually, you're just copying the Xs from the row or column holding those C exclusions to the A row or column.

Then find all the elements of B that are excluded from C (other than B itself). Similarly, just copy those exclusions to the A row or column.

Suppose we had a clue like this: Lufa (category B) is either from Norway (category C) or is the one with 3 gold medals (category A).

Find the countries that are excluded from the one with 3 gold medals (other than Norway) and copy those exclusions to Lufa's column.

Find the number of medals that are excluded from the entrant from Norway (other than 3 medals) and copy those exclusions to Lufa's column.

Can you make a nice graphic that shows this?

If I didn't get this right, I'll be able to see it in the picture .
